ART WORKSHOP SERIES : SESSION 01 : ORKIBAL

Eightyfourcube presents our very own art workshop series featuring some of the best Malaysian local artists. This is a rare chance for you to learn directly from your favorite local artist. They will share their experience, their personal view, their personal techniques and much more. This is an experience and skill sharing class. 


Space are very small, so be fast!

Orkibal will share his knowledge based on his years of experience doing street art and character design. Participants will have the chance to learn basic character design process, painting and coloring technique and how to come out with creative characters.

Venue : Eightyfourcube Studio Gallery (see contact page for map)

Date : Session 1 (12 Feb 2012) & Session 2 (19 Feb 2012)

Time : 3 pm (2 hours each class + 1 hour extra)
Age : 13 years old and above (limited to 12 students only)
Fee : RM150 per person

It's still a major surreal feeling for us here at the studio - but it has definitely been an amazing opportunity to meet such lovely and humble individuals. After two years of meticulous planning, sleepless nights and and countless mamak-debate sessions, our store was finally ready! On the 28th March 2010, mates came by to celebrate the opening reception of SPACE:CUBE Gallery & Store - filled with great food, music, games and great people!

Ever find yourself in awe or dumbfounded whenever an illusionist or a magician manage to conjure something amazing right before our eyes?

Well, this is the exact feeling you’ll get whenever you get to see Spacemaggot live at work – its just pure fascination.

For 10 hours he strived, sprayed and painted our store wall continuously; and with an occasional bit of what he calls ‘tap dancing’ with Art:Tech at intermissions *grins ...
Now that’s what we call an artist with an obsession for perfection!

GRAFF LOVE

There is only one word fitting for this entire entry : absolutely AWESOME.
Ok, so that was two words :D

At 2.30pm, Kenji of Black Fryday graced our humble base in Ampang to work his graffiti magic on our brand new store walls. The challenge was to create a massive ‘Eightyfourcube’ design based on his interpretation. One thing I can’t help but noticing was how ‘fierce’ and dedicated this mate of ours worked (- apart from the massive screaming and shouting he had with Rahmat from Marketing about 15 minutes before that - on the Xbox with FIFA on, hehe)

The result : We heart Black Fryday.
